Devlog #1 for V0.2

Hello everyone!

We are making progress with development and are getting closer to version 0.2. We're skipping minor version releases for now, as we’ve made significant changes to the core systems, which means we've bypassed the "polishing" phase. Only now are we starting to focus on UX and adding and fixing the necessary elements. Because of this, I feel that sharing this update can wait until the full release of 0.2.

To-do for 0.2:

  1. Product Release as a Separate Event: Refining products, bug hunting.
  2. CPU Architecture: This will impact performance, stability, support, documentation, and other key metrics.

Starting from version 0.2, the development process will take its final form and be split into three phases:

  1. Idea – Here, as the player, you decide what to focus on during the current development run.
  2. Design – You and your employees will work on concepts. During this phase, you can adjust certain aspects of the project and encounter design events.
  3. Prototyping – Once the design phase is complete, you’ll move into the prototyping stage. This phase may involve multiple iterations, during which you'll gain a better understanding of the project, fix bugs, further improve the product’s attributes, and experience "prototyping events."

Regarding the CPU Architecture, this will define the direction of your CPU. For example, if you select a RISC architecture, you may not achieve top performance scores, but you'll target different consumer groups, such as the automotive, industrial, and educational sectors.

Current Progress:

Work on animations and employee systems is ongoing (as you can see in the attachment). This will likely take a few more days, as integrating these elements with other systems takes time. We're adding support for animated characters with customization options, animated props, bubble systems, better office layouts, and more. Your employees will know when they have tasks, and perhaps we'll make them disappear during the weekends!

Summary:

The 0.2.x versions will likely be the last ones in the prototyping phase. Starting with version 0.3, we’ll move into the alpha/beta stage, where we’ll focus on improving gameplay.

There is still a lot of technical and design work happening behind the scenes. Since the project is being developed for both web and mobile platforms, we need to carefully decide which parts of PC Tycoon will be best suited for these platforms, and which elements from those platforms will enhance the game experience overall.
